Why is the number 10 retired on the Bucks?
Fifteen players have worn the number 10 for the Milwaukee Bucks, but since 2015 it has belonged to one man in the rafters from here on out.
To date, the Milwaukee Bucks have only retired nine jerseys in over five decades of basketball. Many legendary NBA players have graced their court, but only a select few made the rafters at the Fiserv Forum.
On March 7th, 2015, Bob Dandridge’s jersey was raised at last. The Bucks honored one of their most cherished superstars at halftime during a game against the Washington Wizards – the only other NBA team ‘The Greyhound’ represented in his career.

Why is the number 10 retired on the Bucks?
Bob Dandridge was a 6-6 forward who won two NBA championships in a 13-season, 839-game career. He played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Bullets. Bucks co-owner Wes Edens cited the player’s embodiment of the franchise’s values as a key reason for the team deciding to retire his number at the time.
During his nine seasons in Wisconsin, Dandridge averaged 18.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 618 games. He was an integral part of the 1971 NBA championship team. He shot 50.9% from the floor that year, averaging 18.5 points and eight rebounds per game.
Alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson, Dandridge had a scoring average of over 20 points in the NBA Finals. His exploits helped the Bucks defeat the Baltimore Bullets in four games, securing their first title in franchise history.
After winning a second NBA title with the Washington Bullets in 1978, Dandridge returned to the Bucks in 1981 for one last season before entering retirement.
He scored a career-high 21.5 points per game in 1975-76, and went to the playoffs eight times, averaging 20.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 98 games.
